CLI
aleph <command> <app.ts | manifest.json> [flags]Every command takes an app module (app.ts, whose default export is an app(...)), or a built manifest.json. TypeScript runs through Node's built-in type stripping.
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
aleph build app.ts [-o manifest.json] [--source-map] | Writes the manifest (stdout without -o). --source-map adds file:line:col locations for diagnostics |
aleph check app.ts | Validates, and prints the most each route and handler can use in one run, against its limits. Exits 1 on diagnostics |
aleph check app.ts --against deployed.json | Also classifies every change from the deployed manifest (safe, needs backfill, breaking) and prints the migration plan. Exits 1 if not deployable |
aleph test app.ts | Runs every route example. Exits 1 on failures |
aleph client app.ts [-o client.ts] | Writes a typed fetch client |
aleph dev app.ts [--port 3000] [--watch] [--seed seed.ts] [--data file] [--secret NAME=value] | Serves the app locally; see Local development |
aleph openapi app.ts | Prints an OpenAPI 3.1 document |
aleph mcp app.ts | Prints the MCP tools the app exposes |
Exit codes: 0 success, 1 the app has problems, 2 the command was used wrong.
The commands are also exported from @aleph-lang/cli for use from scripts: check, generateClient, openapi, mcpTools, startDevServer, and main.
